I’m Uday.

For the last twelve years I’ve worked in technology—writing software, then leading technical work and helping engineers ship. These days most of my energy goes to two things: growing into the kind of engineering leader who helps teams ship through clear judgment instead of heroics, and building hands-on with AI—agents, MCP, and the actual tools rather than the theorising. I like being close to the craft even as the job pulls towards judgment and taste.

Outside work, I’m a husband and a dad, and those come first on purpose. I care about doing work that matters, being genuinely present at home, and staying healthy enough to keep up with my kid decades from now. I’m suspicious of hustle culture and of optimising every minute—I’d rather have high standards and an unhurried life than a busy one. “Enough” is a number I’m trying to actually define.

I read widely, take photographs, and am slowly building a public writing practice—mostly about using AI as a force multiplier across a whole life without becoming an optimisation machine about it. The engineering, photography, and writing aren’t separate tracks; they’re all feeding the same sensibility.
